Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DOES THE SYSTEM WORK FOR SELLERS?
  • Sellers register with myconsignmentmanger.com (MY CM), logon, and then enter items, manage items, print inventory sheets, purchase the number of tags they want to print and print completed tags.
  • system is a database and all of your items are stored as soon as they are entered.
  • Sellers can register with MCM, login, enter items and manage inventory without purchasing anything. When Sellers are ready to print, then they will need to either purchase a package or provide a print code from their Consignment. When Sellers purchase a package, they are purchasing a specific number of tags to be placed in their Print Account. Every time the Seller prints a tag, the Print Account will be deducted by the number of tags printed. Prices are based on cost per tag (which is pennies per tag).
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO SELLERS?
  • Electronic entering of tags will save each seller 25-50% in time preparing their items
  • Electronic database of all items entered – can reuse items that remain unsold at other consignments (some consignments have their own electronic entry for items, but the seller either 1) loses that data when they log out or 2) the data can only be used for that specific consignment.
  • Inventory Sheets – printer friendly – with a click of the button.
  • Management of Items (can mark items sold – unsold) and have updated list of items that you still need to sell
  • In the long run, as MCM adds more consignments to the list, it will eventually create universal tagging and registration so that the Seller does not have to create different tags for each sale and register 5 times for 5 different sales.
SHOULD I CHOOSE PARTNER OR GENERIC CONSIGNMENT?
  • SELECT A PARTNER CONSIGNMENT: Sellers can register with some consignments that are listed in the “Partner Consignments”. The Consignments in GREEN allow the seller to register, to print unlimited tags at no cost to the seller for that specific Consignment only, to verify a valid seller #, and to accept the to print unlimited tags at no cost to the seller for that specific Consignment only, to verify a valid seller #, and to accept the printed tags at their sale. Those Consignments in BLUE do not offer the services that those in GREEN and YELLOW offer. The only service that the consignment in BLUE offers is that they will accept MCM’s tags at their sale. Thus, when a seller chooses a “Partner” that is in BLUE, they must always contact the Consignment themselves to register and receive a valid seller # and must purchase their own tags.

WHAT CAN I DO IF THE TAG FORMAT I AM LOOKING FOR IS NOT PROVIDED BY MCM?
  • Email contact-us@myconsignmentmanager.com with the Consignment Name, Contact and Phone number you want to sell with and either email a word document of the tag format or fax it to 770-475-6025. MCM will attempt to provide a tag that the Consignment will accept.
HOW CAN I MAKE THE ENTERING OF ITEMS EVEN MORE EFFICIENT?
  • ENTER ITEMS: By electronically entering your items, it will save the sellers a lot of time. The keys to make this system efficient is to 1) sort your items before you enter them by gender and size, 2) when using the drop down screens (price and type of item), type the first number or letter of what you want to enter – then continue to press the same number or letter button until you find what you want, 3) use the tab button instead of the mouse and enter when complete. When you use the mouse it will slow the process down. Another hint is when you have repeat items, you can keep the description the same and just adjust the price and hit add item. Beats typing in every line every time!
WHEN DO I HAVE TO PAY?
  • Sellers do not have to pay until they need to print their items. A screen will communicate the need to purchase a package at the Print Tag screen. If you want to purchase a package prior to needing to print, go to Purchase Tags at the top left.
  • If a seller chooses to consign with a “Partner Consignment” in GREEN or YELLOW, then the seller will receive the ability to print ALL of their tags at no cost to them. However, this service is only provided when the Seller’s print tags for that specific “Partner”.
  • If the seller decides to Print Tags for either a “Partner Consignment” in BLUE or a “Generic Consignment”, then they will need to purchase a package in order to Print Tags.
WHERE DO I FIND THE PURCHASE PACKAGES?
  • Go to the Purchase Tags tab at the top right of the screen.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN EACH TYPE OF PARTNER CONSIGNMENT?
  • REGISTER WITH A CONSIGNMENT (GREEN):
Choose a “Partner Consignment” in GREEN and receive:
    1. Confirmation of registration
    2. Confirmation of a valid seller #
    3. The ability to use the MCM tags at the sale
    4. Unlimited printing of items AT NO COST to you for that specific Consignment.

** SELLER MUST CONTACT THIS CONSIGNMENT ON THEIR OWN TO PAY REGISTRATION FEES **

  • SELECT A PARTNER CONSIGNMENT (YELLOW):
Choose a “Partner Consignment” in YELLOW and receive:
    1. Confirmation of a valid seller #
    2. The ability to use the MCM tags at the sale
    3. Unlimited printing of items AT NO COST to you for that specific Consignment.

** SELLER MUST CONTACT THIS CONSIGNMENT ON THEIR OWN TO:
    1. REGISTER FOR THE SALE
    2. PAY REGISTRATION FEES

Please make note: My Consignment Manager is not responsible if Seller chooses a YELLOW “Partner” and the consignment never registers the seller for their sale.

  • SELECT A PARTNER CONSIGNMENT (BLUE):
Choose a “Partner Consignment” in BLUE and receive:
    1. The ability to use the MCM tags at the Partner Consignment’s sale.

This “Partner Consignment” (BLUE) that you have chosen, will accept the tag that will print (they actually selected the tag format themselves). Also, these are usually sales that already have their own bar-coding system, but have given MCM permission to duplicate their own bar code at their sale.

** SELLER MUST CONTACT THIS CONSIGNMENT ON THEIR OWN TO:
    1. REGISTER FOR THE SALE
    2. RECEIVE A VALID SELLER #
    3. PAY REGISTRATION FEES

In addition, the seller must purchase his or her own Print Tag Package from MCM.

Please make note: My Consignment Manager is not responsible if Seller chooses a BLUE “Partner” and the consignment never 1) registers the seller nor 2) accepts the seller’s number at their sale.
HOW DO I REGISTER WITH A CONSIGNMENT?
  • After you have logged on to the site, go to the tab, “Register with a Consignment” and click on “Register with a Consignments”.
  • Select the consignment that is having you register with MCM and choose a seller number.
  • Both, the consignment and the Seller will receive a confirmation that you have registered with them.
  • The Partner Consignment will then email you the print code required to print out your items at no cost to you.
HOW DO I KNOW WHEN MCM HANDLES THE REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR A SALE?
  • Go to Select a Consignment. In the Partner section you will see an option to Register. Click it. You will see all of the Partners listed. When you select one, the system will show you on the Header Tab if this is a Consignment that you can register for. You can also know if your Consignment requests for you to register with MCM. Finally, after you have registered, you will receive a Registration Confirmation statement on the screen and email confirming your registration.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE CONSIGNMENT REGISTRATION AND CONSIGNMENT SELECTION?
  • Sale Registration registers the seller for the actual Consignment Sale. The owner of the Consignment Sale is managing the sale from our site. Each time a seller selects to Register with a Consignment, the owner of the Consignment Sale receives notification of the new seller. The seller will receive a confirmation that they are now registered with the Consignment. The owner and the seller then can set up volunteer hours, check-in times through email without the involvement of MCM. Once registered, the program assigns the Consignment to each one of your items entered. This selection tells the program which tag format to print your tags in.
  • Sale Selection assigns the Consignment of your choice to each one of your items entered. The Consignment selection tells the program which tag format to print your tags in.
CAN’T FIND YOUR CONSIGNMENT? – ENTER A GENERIC CONSIGNMENT:
  • Choose to consign with other sales that are not “Partners and choose a tag format that you believe your consignment of choice will accept. To do this, go to Generic Consignment and follow the prompts.

  • **IMPORTANT**
SELLER MUST FIRST VERIFY THAT THE CONSIGNMENT OF THEIR CHOICE WILL TAKE THE TAG THEY HAVE CHOSEN. If the Consignment refuses, please contact-us@myconsignmentmanager.com. We will contact them and see if we can obtain an acceptable tag for you to use.

** SELLER MUST CONTACT THIS CONSIGNMENT ON THEIR OWN TO:
    1. REGISTER FOR THE SALE
    2. RECEIVE A VALID SELLER #
    3. PAY REGISTRATION FEES

addition, the seller must purchase his or her own Print Tag Package from MCM.

Please make note: My Consignment Manager is not responsible if Seller chooses “Generic Consignment” and the consignment never 1) registers the seller, 2) accepts the seller’s number, nor 3) accepts the tag format at their sale.
DO I HAVE TO ENTER ALL MY ITEMS AND PRINT TAGS ALL IN ONE PROCESS?
  • NO. You do not have to enter all of your items in one process. Your data will be stored for up to 12 months. If you continue to use the system, and your account is continually active, we will probably keep your data longer.
Enter items one day, print next week, timing does not matter.
